The Ottoman Empire made various unexpected alliances, one which was with the former king of France Louis I. It was unexpected because he was a Christian king.

The Ottoman Empire was considered a threat for smaller, weaker countries, like the Islamic territories, since they could be conquered.

During the Ottoman Empire, women were treated very poorly, they were constantly raped and punished.

The Ottoman Empire didn´t wanted you to have kids because that would threaten the monarchy.

According to a law, the sultan had to kill his siblings to avoid internal conflicts.

When the Ottoman Empire attacked Vienna in the so called “Siege of Vienna”, Poland teamed up with Austria and after 2 months, they defeated the Ottoman Empire.

Before WWI, the Empire had military and economic weakness, so when they heard about WWI they joined it in hopes of getting more territory.

In WWI the Triple Entente started winning against the Ottoman Empire.

After WWI, in 1922 the Ottoman Empire officially ended.

Its decline began with several military defeats and failed invasions.

One of the causes for the decline of the Ottoman Empire was that the leaders didn't wanted to modernize, but others countries did, so at one point they were not competition anymore.
